HOUCK- Fred E., 90, Johnstown. Passed away on November 12, 2018 at Amber Springs. Born March 5, 1928 in Altoona.

Eldest son of Kenneth and Marie (Capwell) Houck. Preceded in death by parents, wife Shirley J. (Palmer), daughter Debra Jean Stahl, and brothers Harry and Kenneth Jr. Survived by children Derry married to Karen (Coll) of PA, William of Johnstown, Patricia married to Richard Kerns of Johnstown, Gregory of Johnstown; 3 grandsons; granddaughter; 3 great grandsons; brother Rick of Williamsburg; and sisters Joann married to Robert Mingle of Williamsburg, Linda married to Lester Houck of Williamsburg and Sandra married to John Kasun of Duncansville. Fred was a 1946 graduate of Williamsburg High School, WWII US Navy Veteran, having served on the USS Randall, USS Schmidt and USS Caprolitti.

Retired Welder, having worked for Bethlehem Steel in the Mechanical Dept. , Active member of Harmonie Singing Society, having served on the Board of Directors, Officer of Retired Men’s Club, Johnstown. , member of Richland American Legion, SOAR and Life Member of Ferndale Sportsman’s Club.

Fred enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially with his brothers and sons. He was always there to lend a helping hand when needed. Friends will be received from 3-5 Saturday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave.

There will be no service. Interment at Grandview Cemetery. www.
