Obituary for Freda Ivester Sanders Whitner Freda Ivester Sanders Whitner, age 84 of Clarkesville, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018. Born in Clarkesville, Georgia on March 1, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Otis, Sr. and Annie Mae Black Ivester. Mrs. Whitner retired from Clarkesville Mill with many years of service.

She was a faithful member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and served as the secretary for several years. Mrs. Whitner enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandkids and great grandkids and cooking for her family and friends. She had a contagious laugh that would brighten up your day.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Nelce Brodus Sanders; second husband, Hugh Whitner; brothers, Arthur Otis Ivester, Jr. and Truett Douglas Ivester; sisters, Betty Joan Ivester and Mildred Helen Ivester Hallford. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Joy & Mike Henderson and Gay & Ronnie Perry all of Clarkesville; grandchildren and spouses, Joshua & Leah Perry of Clarkesville, Matthew & Lindsey Henderson of Dacula, Brody & Christy Henderson of Atoka, Tennessee, Cara & Julian Arnold of Clarkesville; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Peggy Sanders of Clarkesville and Jo Pennington of Richmond, Virginia; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am, Saturday, July 28, 2018 in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev.

Richard Pletsch officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 4000 Hollywood Highway, Clarkesville, GA 30523.
