Fredrick ‘Fred” Paul Raber, age 86, of Spring Lake, NC died Friday, January 11, 2019 at UNC Hospitals Hillsborough Campus. He was born in Aurora, IL on September 18, 1932. He was preceded in death by bother his parents and a sister.

Fred is a retired from the United States Army after 20 plus years of service. He was in Special Forces and a Paratrooper. Fred and his wife Anne are members of Barbecue Presbyterian Church and his favorite past-times were hunting, fishing, and keeping a vegetable garden.

He is survived by his wife Anne Carey Raber; step-sons John Andrew “Andy” Trogdon of Charlotte, Dewey Truman Trogdon Jr. and wife Sally of Green Bay, WI; grandson Jeffrey Andrew Trogdon and a soon-to-be-born great-grandson Noah Truman Trogdon. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 18, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Barbecue Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Sherrod officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the services in the church fellowship hall.
