Freeman Lester Rose March 22, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Freeman Lester Rose, Jr., 76, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Friday, March 22, 2019 at Signature Healthcare. Lester was born June 16, 1942 in Halifax County to the late Freeman Lester Rose and Blanche Mildred Johnson Rose Shell. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Rose; his sisters, Audrey Rose Hux and Verlie Rose Cullom.

Lester loved playing bingo and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Rose of the home; his children, Lester Ray Rose and his wife Shelley of Petersburg, VA, Leston Erwin Parker of Raleigh, Glenda Michelle Rose Tanner and husband Larry and Justin Wade Hess both of Roanoke Rapids; his brother, Arthur Ray Rose of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Ryan Tanner, Crystal Sitzanis Byrum, Steven Rose, Christopher Coley, Johnathan Coley and Angela Rose; special cousin, Robbie Rose; special friends, Adam Wright and Lucinda Hobbs and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 26, 2019 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev.

Randy Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45 P.M. prior to the service.
