Gail Parris Wood November 25, 1942 – February 01, 2019 Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Gail Wood Gaffney, SC – – Gail Eileen Parris Wood, 76, died on Friday, February 1, 2019 at her home with her family. Born November 25, 1942, in Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late Ray H. and Thora White Parris and the widow of Thomas C. Wood, III. Gail was a Registered Nurse for 52 years.

She provided kindness, service and compassion to the community at Upstate Carolina Medical Center for 28 years between 1988 and 2016. Gail loved her family and pets. She was an avid crafter and enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include her daughters, Alisia Willingham (Terry) of Stockbridge, GA and Anneliese Wood of Gaffney, SC; granddaughters, Kira Nelbach of Minneapolis, MN, Jess Nelbach of Herndon, VA and Kaitlyn Gail Willingham of Akron, OH; great-grandsons, Michael, Dominic and Devan; two brothers, Bruce Parris (Judy) of Bedford, TX and Kevin Parris of Columbia, SC; and a sister, Jill Polhemus (Peter) of Tucson, AZ. She was predeceased by a brother, Eric Parris of Gaffney, SC. A celebration of Gail’s life will be held in Gaffney for family members and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: American Cancer Society, Cherokee County Unit, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615. The family would like to thank Hospice Compassus of Gaffney for their care and kindness. The family will be at their respective homes.
