Obituary for Garry Earl Lakey Garry Earl Lakey (Taz) 63, died May 31st at the VA hospital in Cheyenne, WY. Garry was born in Los Angeles, CA on February 3, 1955 to Andy and Carol (Berkheimer) Lakey. Garry grew up in Independence, MO and joined the Marines in 1974.

He moved to Cheyenne in 1977 and met his wife Charlene (Charlie) Smith. They were married October 14, 1978. He worked at FE Warren ABF as a welder and grounds keeper and retired after working 28 years in civil service.

He was a member of the Honor Guard, a lifetime member of VFW 1881, and a 15-year member of American Legion Post #6. Taz loved to drink beer, ride his motorcycle, and hang out with friends at the Eagle’s Nest. He loved to camp and fish.

Garry is survived by his wife of 39 years; Charlene (Charlie) and daughter Charlene Ann Willis (Dallas), and her three children LeeAnn Huff, Aspen Willis, and Dalton Willis. Others he is survived by are his daughters Tina Brown and Michelle Akers from a previous marriage, and their combined children; making six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Garry was preceded in death by his father Andy Lakey and brother Randy Lakey.
