Gary D. Morey, 70, of Sandusky, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018 in Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness. He was born in Sandusky on June 16, 1948 to the late Wayne and Betty (Iehle) Morey. A 1966 graduate of Perkins High School, Gary received his Bachelor’s from the General Motors Institute.

He was an industrial engineer, eventually retiring as a self-employed man. He was a member of the Sandusky Jaycees and the Elks. Valedictorian of his class at Perkins, he was also a tremendous track athlete, setting many records.

He loved Cleveland sports, walking, traveling, gardening and boating. He will be dearly missed. Gary is survived by his three children, Tamara (Keith) Pasenow, Andrew (Sharre) Morey, and Brendon Morey; six grandchildren, Gage Crum, Madelyn, Ethan, and Jared Pasenow, and Leanna and Makenna Marianek; and brothers, Larry and Chris Morey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Morey. Friends may call from 10 a.m. on Friday, September 14 until funeral services begin at 11 a.m. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave. , Sandusky.

Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gary’s name to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870. Condolences may be shared with the family by visiting toftfuneralhome.com.
