Gary Francis Lockwood, age 65, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at his home in Bakersfield, CA. He was born in Bridgeport, CT on August 4, 1953 to the late Harold and Jacqueline (Malone) Lockwood. Best known for his quick wit, generosity, hospitable nature, and ability to fix anything, Gary will be greatly missed by the many lives he touched.

He attended Shelton High and Emmett O’Brien Technical Schools. After moving to California, he worked at Lockheed assembling instrument panels and Tricor Flight Systems fabricating support structures. He studied Human Services at Bakersfield College and received a B.A. in Psychology/Sociology at California State University.

After earning his degree, he served as a Counselor/Director at Desert Counseling Clinic. He was also the owner of several businesses including custom car painting and home improvements. Gary is survived by a sister Diane (Glen) Goll of Florida, brother Paul Lockwood of California, nieces Amanda, Ariah and Leyah, nephews Michael (Stephanie), Paul Jr., Joshua (Sarah), Aaron (Melina) and Everett, his ex-fiancé and dear friend, Ceri Hulugalle, and many cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Jacqueline (Malone) Lockwood, maternal grandparents Francis and Marguerite (Guillien) Malone and paternal grandparents Charles and Julia (Henninger) Lockwood.
