Obituary for Gary J. Seitz It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Gary J. Seitz, who passed away unexpectedly on May 20, 2018 in his home. Gary, son of (the late) David and Irene Seitz, was born in Coldwater, Ohio on December 18, 1963. Gary is survived by his mother, Irene, and his loving wife of 30 years, Becky Seitz of Springfield.

Their marriage was the epitome of a devoted partnership. His legacy will live on through his children, Lindsay (Alex Seminara) of Columbus, Tyler of Columbus, and Trent of Springfield. His children were his greatest rdzt/ of pride and joy.

He was a beloved brother to his two brothers, Doug (Ginny Puthoff) and Mike (Jenni Buschur), both of Coldwater, and sister, Kim (Mark Metzger) of Fort Recovery, and a special brother-in-law to Barb (John Deeds) of Rawson, Bonnie (Larry Price) of Englewood, Bev Hollen of Vandalia, and Kent Bradley of Columbus. He was fiercely loyal to his friends and family, which also includes several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is proceeded in death by his father, David, his sister, Jodi, and his mother and father-in-law, Don and Jane Bates.

Gary graduated from Coldwater High School and Bowling Green State University, where he studied finance. He will be remembered by customers as a friendly face who was always willing to go the extra mile at Security National Bank, where he served as the branch manager. An avid Buckeye fan, Gary also enjoyed serving as an usher at The Ohio State University football games.

He was an involved member of the Enon community, volunteering his time and talents with numerous organizations over the years. He also enjoyed spending time with his two dogs, Toby and Sadie, and always took interest in his family’s hobbies and passions, ranging from sports to raising animals for the fair to crafts and home improvement projects. He will be remembered fondly for his selfless nature, creative workmanship, and kind spirit.

He had a huge heart, but unfortunately, it wasn’t quite strong enough to allow him to continue living the life he loved so dearly. He will be missed tremendously. A visitation will be held 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Wednesday, May 23 at Adkins Funeral Home, Enon.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held on Thursday at 11am in the Knob Prairie United Church of Christ (Enon) with pastors, Chad Group and Rev. Robert Jencks officiating. Burial will follow the service in Enon Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at Security National Bank to the “Enon Community Fund,” which will support local youth organizations, just as Gary did for many years.
