Obituary for Gary R. Thorne Gary R. Thorne, age 73, a longtime resident of Royal Oak, passed away December 27, 2018 at his home. He was born October 24, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Charles and Eileen (Daily) Thorne. Gary was a proud U.S. Army veteran, who served during the Vietnam Era.

He also was a retired civil engineer from the City of Pontiac. Gary was the loving father of Jason (Heather) Thorne and Matthew Thorne; proud grandfather of Erik Thorne; and dear brother of Susan (Jerry) Curcio. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 30th, from 2-4:00 pm at the Wm.
