Obituary for Genevieve Marie Parks On Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 6:30 p.m., Genevieve (Gege) Marie Poughon Parks, 93, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones. For those who knew and loved her, it’s the first quiet thing she’s ever done. Funny, loud, irreverent.

This was her style. Gege was born in Paris, France on March 16, 1925. As a teenager, she worked in the resistance, carrying fake I.D. badges.

She moved to the U.S. in her early 20’s after having been kicked out of her private boarding school for gluing the headmistresses wig onto her wig stand in the middle of the night. In the U.S., she met and married her sweet husband, Lloyd Parks. Together, they had three children, Cecilia, Louis and Rachel Malone.

Rachel was her favorite. Gege was a teacher, hostess extraordinaire, art lover, philosopher, passionate reader, comedian, devoted mother and exceptional grandmother to Lexi Anderson, Ingrid Anderson and Thomas Tobin. She will be missed by many around the world.
