George E. Kimbro 81, of Waggoner, formerly of Donnellson passed away Jan. 4, 2019 at Carlinville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. He was born July 4, 1937 in Hillsboro IL to Euris and Lois (Elmore) Kimbro.

He was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and a coal miner and farmer. He served in the US Army Reserves. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Litchfield, Donnellson Masonic Lodge, UMWA and Litchfield Sportsman’s Club.

He married Cherrill Smith on August 6, 1960. He is survived by his wife one daughter Melissa Kimbro of St. Louis and one son Martin (Christa) Kimbro of Waggoner, 8 grandchildren and one sister Jennifer (Paul) Hendricks of Divernon. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Melanie Raleigh and one brother David Kimbro.

Memorial service will be Friday January 11, 2019 at 12:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Litchfield with Rev. Gary Schwab officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church.

Private burial will be in Donnellson Cemetery at a later date. Memorials can be directed to MCCA.
