George Enoch McPhetridge September 20, 1931 – February 06, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card George Enoch McPhetridge, 87, of Clinton, formerly of Newcastle, died Wednesday, February 6, 2019, in Clinton. The son of Fermon Odra McPhetridge and Myrtle Leatha (Sisco) McPhetridge, he was born September 20, 1931 in Ashland, Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict as an air traffic controller.

George married Gloria Maxine Choate on January 31, 1953 in California. He graduated from Barber College in Long Beach, California in 1954 and barbered in various places for over 50 years. George owned and operated his own barber shop, George’s Barber Shop, in Newcastle for many years.

He was a member of the Church of Christ and the American Legion. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and reading the Bible. George’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maxine McPhetridge; two sons, Chris McPhetridge and Colin McPhetridge; one daughter Renee McPhetridge; a grandson, David Whited; three brothers, Jack, Pete, and Gene McPhetridge; and two sisters, Faye Richardson and Lorece Harris. He is survived by his five grandchildren, Nathan McPhetridge of McAlester, Jeramy McPhetridge and his wife, Kathryn, of Texas, Kelly McPhetridge of California, Karen McCormick and her husband, Ryan, of California, and Gracie McPhetridge of Oklahoma City; six great grandchildren, Alyssa, Sarah, Lauren, Caleb, Hannah, and Amethyst; one brother, Morris “Butch” McPhetridge of California; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard.

Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.
