George Michael Mechler, Jr., 61 of North East, MD, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Staten Island, NY, on October 27, 1956, he was the son of the late George Michael Sr. and Anne Philomenia (Ruggiero) Mechler. The general manager of Galahad Marine, North East, MD, in his spare time, George enjoyed shooting and making his own ammo.

He is survived by his loving wife: Joy (Peterson) Mechler; 3 children: George Mechler (Fiancé Tiffany Filler) of North East, MD, Joseph Mechler (Cassie) of Barnegat, NJ, and Mary Anne Mechler of North East, MD; 2 brothers: Gary Mechler (Sharon) of Spring Hill, FL and Scott Mechler (Margerat) of Piscataway, NJ; 3 brother-in-laws: Donald Peterson (Valorie) of Lakeland, FL, Nels Peterson (JoAnn) of East Brunswick, NJ, Jeff Peterson (Kim) of Edison, NJ; and “The Boys” , Milo and Chester, his beloved dogs. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with a Memorial Service to be held at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to: Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave.
