Obituary for George Homer Good George Homer Good, age 92, of Carter County, TN passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. He was born in Butler, TN on January 6, 1926 to the late Will and Maude Good. He had three brothers and five sisters.

George loved the Lord and was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church. He loved to sing in the choir and was a faithful member and deacon. He retired from North American Rayon Corporation in Elizabethton.

He also was a farmer, raising tobacco, gardens, putting up hay and raising cows. He also loved camping. George was a World War II Veteran having served in the Philippines and Japan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Mikey Conley; a brother, Charles Good and sisters, Lena Nidiffer, Phylis Rich, Wilma Burchfield and Peggy Gouge. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 67 years, Louise Good, of the home; a daughter, Georgette Stewart and husband Dan Stewart; a son, Richard Good and wife Marlene Good; grandchildren, Darlene Conley and former husband George Conley, Michael Jenkins, children, Nick Conley, Haley Conley Johnson; Danette Roark and husband Bob Roark; son, Nathan Roark and Danny Stewart, Jr and wife Becky Stewart, children, Jacob Stewart and Melissa Stewart and three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Edna Vaughn, Mountain City and brothers, Glenn Good, Mountain City and Bill Good, Pendleton, Oregon. He also leaves behind many cherished friends and extended family.

A service to honor the life of George Homer Good will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 28, 2018 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Kenneth Kyker officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.

Interment will follow the funeral service in the Washington County Memory Gardens, Johnson City. Active pallbearers will be Jacob Stewart, Nick Conley, Nathan Roark, Danny Stewart, Bob Roark, George Conley and Michael Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers are Dan Stewart, Richard Good, Elvis Sullivan, Archie Jones, Richard Whitson, Bobby Emmert, Mike Sproles, Tim Carr and Arnold Lane.

Military honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. The family would like to express a special thank you to the caregivers at the V.A. Medical Center, the V.A. CLC Unit, Caris Hospice and the staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home for their care of Mr. Good. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the American Heart Association, Living Legacy Partnership, 1101 North Chase Parkway, Suite 1, Marietta, GA 30067.
