Obituary for Michael R. Bosch Jr. Michael R Bosch, Jr., 78, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 2:20pm in Johnson City, TN. He was the son of Michael Ralph Bosch, Sr. and Sylvia Heile Bosch. He is survived by his wife: Pat Griggs Bosch; his sisters: Elizabeth Ann Obermiller and Rosemary Sylvia Hartman; his brother: Michael Ralph Quamme (Arlene); his children: Michael R. In addition, he is survived by Anne Marie Bosch, the mother of Michael, Susan and Greg. Mike lived his life with a strong Christian faith and an unwavering belief in God’s power to impact peoples’ lives in ways people could never imagine. He was a larger than life personality who impacted people by his mere presence in the room.
His hugs were legendary, and more than a few people wondered if his hugs were the definition of a bear hug! Mike had the ability to make people feel better about themselves walking out of a room than when they entered. Even through his final days his family and friends marveled at this gift.
Mike was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Campion High School in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri, and he received his Masters Degree from University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri. His professional life began in 1963 with teaching physical education and coaching high school basketball.
He transitioned to a 40-year career as a sales person in the furniture industry. The number of his friends and width of his relationships spread through his churches, friends, companies and the furniture industry. He enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids play sports; he loved Mississippi State athletics.
He always found time for prayer with the Lord. Mike and Pat give special thanks to the people who cared for him at MD Anderson in Houston, the Fresenius Dialysis Center in Mountain City, the Mountain City Care and Rehabilitation Center and the Ballad Health Johnson City Medical Center. Their professionalism, care and dedication were never taken for granted and were appreciated by Mike and his family every day of his life.
