Mary “Babe” Etta Ward August 05, 1947 – December 28, 2018 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences Mary “Babe” Etta Ward, 71, passed away at the Johnson City Medical Center on December 28, 2018. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Evelyn Taylor. She was a Special Education Teacher at Valley Forge Elementary School and loved the children dearly.

Babe also loved to shop. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Taylor and Gene Taylor and one sister, Diana Bishop. Those left to cherish her memory are Jack Ward, husband, Nyoka Bentley,sister and Bobby Taylor, brother.

Special nieces Tammy Almond and Kawana Collake and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friend Dale Ward. She will be missed by her fur baby, Bootsie.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Burl Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be: Dale Ward, Harold Ward, Brady Lewis, Brandon Murphy, Austin Almond, Isaiah Arnold, Tony Bishop, and Gary Taylor.

The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the ICU nurses at the Johnson City Medical Center, Ken and Linda. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.- 12 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.
