Obituary for George M. Strileckis THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF GEORGE M. STRILECKIS WATERBURY – George M. Strileckis, Sr., 67 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, November 30, 2018 surrounded by his immediate family at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Marys Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Beverly (Cherry) Strileckis. George was born August 12, 1951 in Waterbury the son of the late John and Genevieve (Ives) Strileckis.
He was child number 13 of 14 and the seventh son. He also believed he was the favorite of them all. He graduated from St Francis Xavier Grammar School and Crosby High School.
Although George retired from Mercury Fuel Service after 43 years of loyal service as Operations Manager, he will be most remembered for his laid back, easy going way. His personality out shined all those who surrounded him. George was loved by everyone he met.
He had the uncanny way to make everyone smile. He loved to joke and was always ready for a dance. George also loved to sing to his grandchildren even though they thought he made up all those crazy songs.
He will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to know and love him. He will continue to watch over the love of his life his wife Beverly (Cherry) Strileckis and his children, George Jr. of Waterbury, Jennifer and her husband, Carl Torres of Waterbury and Marc with his wife, Andrea (McGraw) of Greenwich. He will continue to influence his grandchildren; Carl Torres Jr., Jennalyn Torres both of Waterbury, Anna Strileckis, Emily Strileckis and Jack Strileckis all three from Greenwich.
He leaves behind his brothers, Tony, Tom and Joe, and his sisters, MaryAnn, Sr. Ann Marie and Margaret. He will be missed by countless nieces and nephews. .
Funeral services for Mr. Strileckis will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 when a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.at SS Peter & Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd Waterbury CT. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury.
Relatives and friends may visit with George’s family on Tuesday evening from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd, Waterbury.
