Obituary for George V. Fish A celebration of the life of George V. Fish, 76, of Mentor, will be held from 2-4 pm on Saturday, April 14 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. Mr. Fish passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights. Born November 14, 1941 in East Cleveland, he has lived in the home he built by the bridge on the Mentor Lagoons since 1975.

Mr. Fish was a United States Navy veteran and a self-employed diesel mechanic. He was an avid gardener and a passionate boater. Prior to his death, he was planning a trip to Key West for the next races- a boater until the day he died.

Survivors are his sons, Eric (Michelle) Fish and Doug Fish (Carrie Schoen); grandchildren, Michael and Daelyn Fish; sister, Susan (Tom) Henderson; niece, Erin and nephew, Andrew. He also leaves his friend and former wife, Anita Fish, son-in-law, Kevin Gotto, and many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy (Fish) Gotto, and his parents, George and Ruth (Campbell) Fish.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions in George’s memory to a favorite charity. He was an organ donor and a supporter of many veteran organizations. George was very loved and will be missed by many.
