Georgia Joanne Nate Trussel Tanner July 23, 1930 ~ February 18, 2019 George Joanne Nate Trussel Tanner, 88, passed away suddenly in Ogden, Utah on February 18, 2019, of natural causes. She was born in Ogden, Utah on July 23, 1930 to Milton and Margaret Nate. The family moved to Dingle, Idaho where she graduated from Montpelier High School in 1948.

She attended college at Idaho State University and Brigham Young University. She married Grant Bennie Trussel in 1951. They had one child, Kevin Grant Trussel (Carrie) of Perry, Utah, and two grandchildren, Melissa Christiaens (Sid) of North Ogden, Utah , and Melanie Stewart (Jeremy) of Farr West, Utah, and eight great-grandchildren.

They were later divorced. In 1978 she married Gene Seth Tanner with four step-children, Steven Tanner (Suzanne) of Bountiful, Utah, Richard Tanner of Ogden, Utah, Lynette Hansen (John) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Suzanne Tanner of Ogden, Utah; with 13 step-grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren. She retired form Hill AFB as an International Logistics Manager after 30 years of Civil Service receiving numerous awards for her work.

She was active in multiple Community Organizations and found much enjoyment doing service for others. She enjoyed activities with her family. She enjoyed cooking for her family and having parties making everyone feel special, needle point, singing, traveling, camping, and boating with Gene.

She especially enjoyed Christmas where she would decorate her house both in and out with Christmas decorations in every room. She lived in her home in Pleasant View for 55 years taking much pride in her yard and gardens, while doing much of the upkeep herself. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Grant Trussel and Gene Tanner; brother, Douglas Alan Nate; stepson, Steven Tanner; and great-grandsons, Matthew and Gregg Tanner.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m . at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
