Gerald Doyce “Bubba” Gilmer, Jr., age 46 and a resident of Brandon, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 pm, Monday, April 30, 2018 from the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel with interment in the Lena Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Visiation will be from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm Monday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.

Bubba was a lifelong resident of Brandon and a Catholic by faith. He was a member of the Brandon Masonic Lodge, and a self employed carpenter. Bubba enjoyed his expertise as a small engine repairman, furniture maker, and doing ceramic tile work.

A perfectionist, he took great pride in his yard work, gardening, tending to flowers, and raising chickens. He is preceded in death by his parents: Gerald Doyce and Bobbie Jean White Gilmer. Survivors include his two children: Natalie Paige Gilmer and Morgan Marie Gilmer, both of Brandon; two sisters: Donna (Dustin) Powell of Florence and Sherry (Darryl Creel) Blough of Pearl; and several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Darryl Creel, Dustin Powell, Michael Huff, Chris Beard, Austin Huff, and Austin Bowman.
