Geraldine F. Hiss, 82, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018. She lived in Akron and attended Margaret Park Elementary School, eventually moving to Copley for her last 2 years of high school. At Copley High School she met her soon-to-be husband, K. David Hiss (deceased).

They were married on October 20, 1956. Geraldine was preceded by her parents, Helen (nee Malone) and Denis Hillery both from Ireland. Helen later married Frank Shuber (deceased,from Copley).

She will be missed by her Hiss family, Henry Hiss Sr., Mercedes Hiss (deceased), Henry Hiss Jr. (Anita) and Henry’s daughter, Courtney; Karl M. Hiss Sr. (Tricia) and their son, Karl; Melinda Ciccarrelli (Dan) and children, Danny and Katie; Melissa Gosney (Ed) and children, Renee, Edwin and Brinn. Also her extended Shuber family, half-brother, Terry (deceased); Bob and Peggy Shuber (both deceased) and children, Mike, Kathleen (deceased), Shelley (Marty), Patty (Dante), and Brad; Edward & Charlotte Shuber, (both deceased) and children, Danny (Judy), Dave (Kay), and Susan (deceased); Tommy & Gerry Shuber and children, Tim (Cheryl), Mary (Joe), and Ann (Mike); as well as many great nephews and nieces. Until Gerry went into the hospital on April 17th she still worked 2 days a week at Hiss Bakery in Barberton.

Her absence will be felt by store employees and customers alike. Gerry’s funeral service will be held Monday, May 21st at 11 a.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave, Barberton 44203 with Deacon Robin Adair officiating. Inurnment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service.
