Geraldine Williams “Gerrie” Serritt, 88, of Calhoun, died Thursday, October 26, 2018 at Gordon Health Care, following an extended illness. She was born in Guntersville, AL on December 20, 1929, daughter of the late Fred and Essie Gravitte Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Serritt; her daughter, Joann L. Fuller; brothers, Jack Williams, Buddy Williams, and Vincent Williams; sisters, Myrtle Reed, and Peggy Fowler; a son-in-law, Trammell Williams; and a brother-in-law, Buster Franklin.

Gerrie loved music, dancing, and the mountains. She was active in the Oostanaula Community benefits, and the Eastern Star. She was of the Baptist faith, and a member of New Town Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James and Yvonne Fuller; her daughters and son-in-law, Deborah S. Williams, Cindy R. and Jerry Boggs, and Jenny Fuller and Tyrone Harris; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Annette Williams, and Fred and Carla Williams; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margie and Gene Edwards, Annie Franklin, and Buster Reed; grandchildren, Georgia Fuller, Heather and Stephen Wilson, Tamra Shaughnessy and Patrick, Misty Blackmon and Jason, Miranda Serritt and Nathan, Jesse K. Beacham and Shelby, Michael Fuller, and Christopher Taylor; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Kelly, Eli, Stephen, Brandon Blalock, Riley Blackmon, Addison and Landon Serritt, Michael and Reece Fuller, Alexander Shaughnessy, Brandon Shaughnessy, and Blake Holmlund; great-great grandchildren, Amelia and Evora; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marvin and Jo Serritt; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Addie Jo and Andrew Baker. Services to honor the life of Gerrie Serritt will be held Monday, October 29th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Barry Tow officiating.

Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Fred Williams, Ronnie Williams, Marvin Serritt, Dwayne Serritt, Michael Fuller, and Tyrone Harris. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 PM until the service hour of 2:00 PM.
