Obituary of Gerald Steinke Gerald W. Steinke August 13, 1939-March 8, 2018 Highland Falls, NY Gerald W. Steinke passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at his home in Highland Falls, NY. He was 78 years old. Son of the late Irvin L. Steinke and the late Luella V. Vollmer Steinke, he was born August 13, 1939 in Tigerton, WI.

Anyone that knew Gerald would tell you that he was a generous thoughtful patriotic man that would do anything for the ones he loved. Some of his favorite things to do were to watch the Packers, Yankees and Nascar with his family. Gerald always loved a family gathering and a good western!

He was a man of many stories from his childhood being raised on a small farm in Wisconsin, to his military career as a CW4 living all over the world and most importantly meeting his beloved wife Oliva in Germany. Which is where the story of this family starts. All it took was a polka band and one dance.

He is now reunited with her in heaven where he can waltz in peace with his beautiful bride once again. RIP PAPA. Survivors include his sons: Wayne Steinke and his wife Kathy of Connersville, IN, Thomas Steinke of Highland Falls, NY; his daughter Christine Manupelli and her husband Dale of Highland Falls, NY; his brothers: Roger and Alan, and sisters: Marilyn Madison, Laurie Miller, Judith Cassler; his grandchildren: Paige and Brett; and very dear and close friends of the family: Matt, Maria, Sarah & Jack Nischwitz, Mary Canausa, Teddy Hughes, Annie Burley and Lucas Freeman.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 15th at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main Street, Highland Falls, NY. A Graveside Service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Eagle Valley Cemetery, Town of Highlands, NY.
