Virginia Lou “Ginger” Day was born on August 14, 1931, in Duncan, to Roy William and Dorothy Nix. She passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019, at the age of 87. A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13, at 1:30P.M. at the First Christian Church with Rev.

Arnold Nelson officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home. Ginger was a member of the 1949 graduating class of Duncan High School.

She was employed as a draftsman by Halliburton. Ginger loved to do woodworking and painting. She also made counted cross-stitch pictures and did ceramics.

She had a passion for many things, the most important was assisting at The Compassion Center in the medicine dispensary. She also volunteered at church by folding the weekly bulletins and helping at community dinners provided at The Well. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Dorothy Nix; daughter, Carolyn Dillon; and brother, Doug Nix.

Ginger is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Pixley and Kathy and husband Ronnie Thompson; 6 grandchildren, David Dillon, Melissa and Jeff Teakell, Carlissa Pixley, Rusty Bridgers, Kristi Bridgers, and Stacy Bridgers; and 14 great grandchildren, Chase Lynch, Lexi Teakell, Samanatha Bridgers, Austin Sosebee, Rylea Pixley, Chance Bridgers, Dillon Teakell, Braden Sosebee, Cole Lynch, Trey Bridgers, Sandra Lou Bridgers, Grayson Bridgers, Damon Dillon, and Parker Bennett.
