Obituary for Gladys Spallato (Dorn) Gladys Irene Spallato, 83, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha. Born in Sparta, WI, on June 10, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Goldie (Franks) Dorn. She moved to Kenosha as a child and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School.

On January 8, 1966, she married Paul Spallato in Waukegan, IL. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Rusecki.

Gladys worked as a cook at Andy’s Restaurant and later in the lunchroom at Frank Elementary School. She attended Bethany Lutheran Church and would volunteer at the voting polls and also giving tours at Kemper Center. She was an avid reader and cat lover, who also enjoyed cooking and bird watching.

Survivors include her two children, Al (Shelly) Spallato of McFarland, WI, and Lisa (Joe) Barsuli of Pleasant Prairie; a sister, Doris Hollingshead of Warrens, WI; and four grandchildren, Francesca Spallato, Nicholas Barsuli, Brandon Rusecki, and Samantha Barsuli. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 10th, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Kindred Kitties, 614 59th Street, Kenosha, WI 53140, would be appreciated by the family.
