Obituary for Gladys Louise Lucas Gladys Louise Lucas, 98, of Seymour, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown. She was born in 1919 to Maude (Weasner) and Walter Findley in Rockford. She married Julius “Jude” Lucas on March 25, 1939, in Jeffersonville.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 25, at 10 AM at Voss Chapel with Rev. Jim Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Friends and family may call after 9 AM on Wednesday until the time of the service. She was a member of Peter’s Switch Church of the Nazarene, she loved to clean her house, and she washed her windows every week. She was an excellent baker and she generously shared her baked goods with her friends and family.

She enjoyed the garden, flowers, and just spending time with those she loved. She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Larry) Carpenter, son, Tom (Virgie) Lucas, and daughter-in-law, LuAnn Lucas, a brother, Bill Findley, a sister, Marjorie Sentz, six grandchildren, Lori Carpenter, Larry (Brenda) Carpenter, and Tammy (Paul) Carpenter, Dwayne Lucas, and Bart Lucas, and 10 great grandchildren, John, Rachel, Logan, Lucas, Amanda, Morgan, Cody, Zach, Zane and Ayden, and several great great grandchildren. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Max Lucas, sisters, Betty Hudson, Ethel Findley, Rosemary Mellencamp, Opal Beineke, and Wanda “Sue” Murphy, brothers, Lawrence, Eugene and Robert Findley, a grandson, Troy Lucas, and a sister-in-law, Rosemary Findley.
