OBITUARY Gladys Marie Flinn August 9, 1931 – January 24, 2019 Gladys Flinn, 87, passed away January 24, 2019. Funeral services are 10:30 AM Monday, January 28th at the McGilley Antioch Chapel, Kansas City, MO. Visitation is from 3-5 PM Sunday and from 9:30-10:30 AM Monday at the chapel.

Burial will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at the Wamego City (KS) Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions suggested to Westwood Presbyterian Church, Wichita, KS or Avondale United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Myron Flinn, Kansas City, MO; daughter, Maureen (Rob) Woods, Orange, TX; son, Kevin (Kathryn) Flinn, Kansas City, MO; and grandchildren, Jacy Woods, Kolby Woods, Karsten Flinn and Kendall Flinn; and a brother, Lester Trout, Mt.

Pleasant, PA. Gladys was born August 9, 1931 to George and Rosa (Summy) Trout at Trout’s Crossing in Mt. Pleasant Township, PA.

She grew up with a large extended family of 19 cousins and began driving a tractor at the age of 7. They attended Middle Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant Township.

Gladys was a 1949 graduate of Hurst High School, Norvelt, PA. She went on to work at Smith Glass in Mt. Pleasant, PA and then Troutman’s Department Store in Connellsville, PA.

In 1959 she moved to Kansas City and was employed with Trans World Airlines. She married Myron Flinn on July 4, 1968 at Roanoke Presbyterian Church in Kansas City. Gladys and Myron moved to Wichita in 1968 where they made their home until 2014.

She was a long-time member of Beta Sigma Phi and received her 50 year membership in 2015. Gladys worked as a lunch room lady for the Wichita Public Schools from 1978-1999 at Northwest High School and Hadley Middle School. For most of her life she was active with both the Girls Scouts USA and Boy Scouts of America.

She was an active member of Westwood Presbyterian Church serving as Clerk of the Session for many years. Gladys loved to research genealogy and mentored many in their research. She travelled extensively throughout the world.

Gladys was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
