Gladys Joyce Roberts, 88, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Signature Healthcare of Hillcrest. She was born on March 29, 1930 in Henderson, KY to the late Denny and Nellie Best Goode. She retired after 49 years from General Electric and MPD and together with her husband and son was the former owner of Swannee Valley Zoo in Lake City, Florida.

Gladys was of the Catholic faith and loved to cook and make ceramics. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William C. Roberts in 2007; her son, Vernon Roberts in 2011 and 11 siblings. Survivors include her grandson, Shawn Roberts of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2018 in the chapel at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
