Glenda Alice Taylor April 22, 1937 – January 23, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card BERTHOUD, COLORADO – Glenda Alice Taylor went home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2019, at the age of 81 years. She is missed but her family praises God that she has peace and comfort. Glenda was born on April 22, 1937 in Dodge City, Kansas to Glen and Aletha Jones.

She spent her childhood there and had very fond memories of people, experiences and relationships with family and friends. Glenda and her husband Wayne lived close to each other as young children and went to grade school together. It wasn’t until after Wayne came home from overseas with the military that they fell in love.

They were married in June of 1959 and would have celebrated 60 years of marriage this year. Glenda went to college at Emporia State College and taught kindergarten at Wilroads Gardens in Dodge City. Glenda and Wayne moved to Colorado in 1962 and made their home first in Longmont then in Berthoud.

She enjoyed church activities, teaching Sunday school, Bible Studies, baking and reading. She had a strong love for God and in the power of prayer. She had an incredible love for children and spent many hours loving on her own children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Throughout her life she also took the opportunity to love on many other people’s children as well. However, her unconditional love for her family is what made her so endearing us. Glenda is survived by her husband Wayne, brother Ronald and his wife Carol, sister Wanda and her Husband Bob (Beemer), sister Carol (Shelton); her daughters Kylenn and husband Steve (Dasenbrock), Joni and husband Harley (Lowe) Karalee (Minch), Julia and husband David (Jacobsen); 13 grandchildren and spouses; 8 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother in law Jim Shelton. Funeral services were held at Viegut Funeral Home in Loveland, CO on Monday, January 28, 2019. Graveside services will be held at Ridenhour Cemetery in Dodge City, on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 1:00pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, a Christian organization of donor’s choice or Meals on Wheels of Loveland in care Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave. , Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
