He was born July 19, 1956 at Larned, Kansas, the son of DC and Isabell (Schasteen) Klein. He was the 13th child of 13.

6 brothers and 7 sisters. He grew up working on the family farm near Hanston and was a graduate of Hanston High School. He moved to Dodge City and worked for BJM and Harsh for many years before landing at Roto-Mix as the Parts Manager for the past 25 years.

On January 31, 1976 he married Cindy Kraft at the United Methodist Church in Jetmore. She survives. He enjoyed racing, hunting, fishing, camping and boating.

He especially enjoyed riding his motorcycle with Cindy and spending time with his granddaughters. Other survivors include: his son, Kyle Klein and wife Amber, Hutchinson; 2 granddaughters, Kaylie and Piper; 4 brothers, Robert Klein and wife Karen, Hanston, Eldon Klein, Dodge City, Jody Klein, Dodge City and Steve Klein and wife Penny, Enid, Oklahoma; 5 sisters, Carolyn Hertel and husband Harold, Garden City, Phyllis Allison and husband Bobby, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Barbara Krentzel and husband Mac, McPherson, Kansas, Kay Parks and husband Jim, Manhattan, Kansas and Donna Sherman and husband James, Wichita; 30 nieces and nephews and 51 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard Klein and 2 sisters, Ruby Rebel and Pat Klein.

Memorial service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, with Richard Crockett officiating. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place.

Friends may sign the register from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Friday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel. The family suggests memorials to the Jack Klein Grandchildren Fund in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave. , Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
