Obituary for Glenn E. “Glenny” Mowry IV Glenn “Glenny” Errett Mowry IV, 19 of Wendel, PA; went home to be with his Lord and Savior; passing away peacefully in his sleep; with his family by his side; Saturday, January 19, 2019 at UPMC Presbyterian, Oakland, PA. He was born in Greensburg, PA on September 23, 1999; beloved son of Glenn (III) & Kimberly Mowry; also of Wendel, and will be dearly missed by all those who knew him. He was a 2018 honor graduate of Mowry Christian Homeschool; and was strongly against the use of drugs, alcohol and tobacco.
Glenny had a kind, generous and gentle soul, and loved helping those in need. He also loved playing around with his little dog; Bear; always tossing him his favorite toy to go fetch. He looked forward to football season; and loved going to Heinz Field with his dad and his brother-in-law; Rick to see the Steeler games, and he enjoyed watching any and all sports on television.
He also enjoyed spending time with his closest friends; going out to eat with them and then may be bowling a few rounds, “hanging out” with them upstairs in his “Steeler Room” at his family’s home or playing PS IV online with them. His favorite thing was operating heavy equipment and working with his hands for a living; as he started when he was only 3 years old. His warm, beautiful smile and laughter, cute sense of humor, and “out-eating whoever contests” will always be remembered by everyone who knew and loved him.
He used to attend Paintertown Evangelical Lutheran Church; and was baptized there. Even though he hadn’t been there in recent years; he never got away from his strong Christian beliefs. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Rose Mowry; formerly of Irwin, PA, and Glenn Mowry, Jr.; formerly of Pearland, TX, paternal aunt; Grace Gearhart; formerly of Mt.
Pleasant, PA, and a maternal cousin; Michael Kaminski; formerly of Beaumont, TX, and more recently; his maternal step-grandmother; Esther Laspina; formerly of Largo, FL; who he nick-named “Essie”. He is survived by his beloved sister; Angela Murray, and her husband; Richard of Lincoln Heights, PA, beloved maternal grandparents; Mary Laspina of Irwin, PA & Samuel Laspina III; also of Irwin, PA, beloved maternal aunts; Debbie Rukenbrod (John) of Charles Town, WV, Cindy LaValle of Jeannette, PA, & Linda Lovett of Irwin, PA; along with many beloved maternal cousins; Bonnie, Bobby, Katie, Ryan, Ashley, Brianna, Emma, Faron, Adrian, Eden, Tony, and Ralynn; and of course; his beloved little doggie & best friend; Bear. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Friday at the OTT FUNERAL HOME Inc, 805 Pennsylvania Ave, Irwin, PA 15642, 724-863-8900; where a service will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Randy Marburger officiating.
