Gloria Norton January 26, 1932 – December 28, 2018 Gloria Anderson Norton was born in Sioux Falls, SD on January 26, 1932 and died on December 28, 2018 in Plymouth, MN. Gloria was the daughter of Arthur J. and Helen (Stromerson) Anderson of Canton, SD. Gloria grew up in Canton, SD and graduated from Canton High School.

She attended Carleton College in Northfield, MN and went onto graduate with a degree in elementary education from the University of Minnesota in 1954. On August 14, 1955 Gloria married Donald G. Norton. They lived in Great Falls, Montana and Bismarck, ND before moving back to Sioux Falls in 1969.

She taught elementary school in Great Falls, Bismarck, and at Cleveland Elementary and Horace Mann in Sioux Falls, before retiring in 1993. Gloria made the move up to Plymouth, MN in the fall of 2014. Gloria’s husband, Donald passed away on December 22, 1992.

Born: January 26, 1932 Death: December 28, 2018 Mrs. Norton was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and Bible study. She was also a member of the Retired Teacher’s Association. Gloria enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bridge, mah jongg and traveling.

Gloria is survived by her daughters, Janet (Don) Anderson, Barb (Marc) Enge, and Teri (Ken) Pashina; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Kathy Thorson and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the small chapel at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Private family burial will take place prior to the service at Woodlawn Cemetery.
