Obituary for Grace D. Woods Grace D. Woods, age 69, of Stanley, NC, died Tuesday, July 3, 2018 in Spruce Pine. Born on February 23, 1949 in Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Leona Woods who resided in Clyde, NC prior to her death. In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Hedden.

Grace was a Christian and loved going to church and her church families. She also loved the mountains, her family and nature. Left to cherish her memories are her fiancé; Lance Crowder of Stanly, NC; her daughter Shannon Dooley and fiancé, Chris Owens of Gaffney, SC; her son; Daren Dooley and wife, Amy of Gaffney, SC; her sisters; Bertha Bishop of Marshall; Janice Davis of Blairsville, GA; and Rose Abernathy of Dahlonega, GA; her brother; Dale Hedden of McCaysville, GA; her sister-in-law; Gail Hedden of Blairsvilee, Ga; her grandchildren; Chelsea Dooley-Cash and Jonathon Harrill; and there are several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Grace Woods on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Gouges Creek Baptist Church with the Rev’s. Tommy Thomas and Mike Pitman officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 1:00 pm until the service hour at the church.
