Obituary for Harold Taylor Harold C. Taylor, age 84, of Green Meadows Drive in Kings Mountain, formerly of Newland, died Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at his home in Kings Mountain. Born on October 9, 1933 in Avery County, he was the son of the late Arthur and Vergie Shook Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Clyde, William, and Wallace Taylor and his sisters; Ruth Burleson, Doris Pearson, Lillian Wall, Louise Tate, Sue Helton, Lucy Carpenter, and Lucille Burleson.

Harold was retired from Atlantic Coast Carton after forty-six years of service. He was known as a great story teller and he enjoyed working in his garden. He always looked forward and enjoyed family reunions.

Left to cherish his memories are his son; Tim D. Shirlen and wife, Tracy of Kings Mountain; his granddaughter; Elizabeth Smith and husband, Terry of Kings Mountain; his grandson; Michael Rogers of Huntersville; four great grandchildren; his brother; Don Taylor and wife, Betty of Newland; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Harold Taylor on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Walnut Grove Church with the Rev’s. Kurt Bomar and Stacey Clark officiating.

A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the church. Interment will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.
