Obituary for Helen B. Bartlett Helen Boone Bartlett, age 88, of Possom Trot Road in Bakersville, died Friday, September 14, 2018 at Smokey Ridge Health & Rehab in Burnsville. Born on November 8, 1929 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Fred T. and Lela Sparks Boone. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bartlett who passed away in 2015.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Boone and a sister, Faye Thompson. Helen was a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, camping, and traveling.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter; Gail Buchanan and husband, Keith of Independence, KY; her son; Jerry Bartlett and wife, Sherry of Bakersville; her sisters; Mary Lou Willis of Bakersville; Betty Jo Gordon of Johnson City, TN, and Mae Jarrett, and husband, Frank Ray of Jacksonville, FL; her brother; Henry Boone and wife, Joyce of Spruce Pine; her grandchildren; Adam Buchanan and fiancée, Chrissy, of Spring ,TX and Michael Bartlett and wife, Kelly of Lake Wylie, SC and Cheyanne Rathbone and husband, Hunter of Weaverville, NC and her great granddaughter, Harper Bartlett. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Helen Bartlett on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 5:30 pm at the Bear Creek Baptist Church with the Rev’s. Bruce Cannon and Larry Greene officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 4:30 pm until 5:30 pm at the church. Interment will follow in the Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donation to; Hospice of the Blue Ridge or Alzheimer’s Association.
