Obituary for Ray Boone Ray Boone, age 83, of Wanna B. Lane in Burnsville, the Arbuckle community, died Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Brian Center Health & Rehab in Spruce Pine. Born on August 29, 1934 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Joe and Mae Burleson Boone. Ray was a lifelong member of the Liberty Hill Baptist Church and was a member of Vesper Masonic Lodge #554 A.F. & A.M for fifty-seven years.

Ray was employed by Burleson Plumbing and Heating for sixty-five years and was recognized as a master craftsman in fabricating sheet metal. He loved his family, his job, and he enjoyed his percheron horses and traveling to Ohio with his late nephew, Bill Bartlett to enjoy the Amish lifestyle. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of sixty-one years; Edna Griffith Boone; his daughter; Mary Bailey and husband, Mike of Burnsville; his sons; Dwayne and Jeff Boone both of the home; two granddaughters; Nikki Ray of Burnsville and Lauren Chriscoe and husband, Matt of Pinehurst, NC; three great grandchildren; Griffin Ray of Burnsville; Banks Chriscoe and Boone Chriscoe of Pinehurst, NC; one brother; Paul Boone and wife, Emma; and three sisters; Ruby Putnam and late husband, Bill Putnam; Margaret Greene and husband, Chuck; and Mildred Presnell and Charles Miller.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Ray Boone on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 4:00 pm at the Liberty Hill Baptist Church with the Rev’s. Clay Dale, Ricky Ray, and G E Freeman officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the church.

Masonic Graveside rites will be conducted by Vesper Masonic Lodge #554 A.F. & A.M. Interment will follow in the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted and appreciated or memorial donations may be made to: Shriners’s Children’s Hospital, C/O Vesper Mason Lodge #554 A.F. & A.M., 641 Oak Ave. , Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
