Obituary for Alice Susan Buchanan Alice Susan Buchanan, age 82, of Gouges Creek Road in Spruce Pine died Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born on February 9, 1936 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Dexter Arthur and Minnie Lee Thomas Buchanan. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers; Lonnie, Brown, Howard and Virgus, and her sisters; Tessie, Texie and Iva.

Alice was the last surviving sibling in the family. Alice Buchanan was a lifelong member of the Gouges Creek Baptist Church. She loved going to church and enjoyed helping with the cleaning of it.

She also enjoyed taking care of the family cemetery. She was a caregiver to many. Left to cherish her memories are her nieces; Kathy Burleson and husband, Adam of Spruce Pine, and Joanna Ford of Spruce Pine, her sister in law; Rosalee Buchanan, and several more nieces and nephews.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Alice Susan Buchanan on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Thomas officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 12:00 pm until the hour of the service.
