Grace Lorene Transue April 21, 1930—January 19, 2019 Grace “Lorene” Transue, 88, of Albany passed away peacefully Saturday at Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House. Born to Roy and Johnnie (Carroll) Hamilton in Athens, Tennessee, Lorene was the oldest of six children. Her family moved to Albany in the early 1940’s.

In 1946, Lorene’s mother and sister were killed in a car accident by a drunk driver. The children were raised by different families but always remained close. Lorene met Roscoe Transue and they were married on April 24th, 1950 and remained in Albany for all of their lives.

Lorene enjoyed cooking, growing plants and flowers, camping and animals. She is survived by her husband Roscoe; daughters Debbie of Albany and Lori (Brian) Taylor of Phoenix, Arizona; grandsons Andrew (Jenn) and Adam; and sisters Kathleen Schuld, Elizabeth Hill and Linda Baker. A memorial service was held on January 23rd at Grace Point Church in Albany.
