Obituary for Gregory Dale Knarzer RICHMOND, Ind. – Gregory Dale Knarzer, age 63, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at his home. Born November 8, 1955, in Richmond, Indiana, to Dale and Dorothy Bishop Knarzer, Greg was a life-long resident of Richmond.

He was a 1974 graduate of Richmond High School. Greg followed his father’s career path as a fire fighter. He was a fireman with the Richmond Fire Department, retiring as a Lieutenant after 28 years of service.

Greg was a loyal friend to many and had a big, loving heart. He was a tremendous sports fan. Greg was a faithful follower of the Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Cubs.

He was always seen wearing apparel from one of the teams he loved. Survivors include his beloved mother, Dorothy; sister, Kimberly (Jim) Daggy; niece, Jessica Daggy; nephew, Justin (Amber) Daggy; great-niece, Penelope Daggy; great-nephew, Jackson Gray; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many friends. Greg also leaves behind his beloved dog, “Chopper” and two special friends, Dave Burkhardt and Melissa Irvin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dale, who he considered his best friend. Visitation for Gregory Dale Knarzer will be from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond, with honors provided by the Richmond Fire Department. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev.

Ted Chalk officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to: Help The Animals, Inc., P.O. Box 117, Richmond, IN 47375.
