Grover Ronald “Ron” Evans, 79, of Fortville, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018 in Indianapolis. He was born September 14, 1939 in Indianapolis to the late Emerson and Mary Elizabeth Evans. Ron received his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and was in the U.S. Navy Reserve for 30 years.

Ron retired from the Diamond Chain Company as a senior machine designer, and was also an instructor for Lincoln Tech. Ron was the owner and operator of Cap-N-Hook’s Outdoor Sports in McCordsville. He was a member of Fortville Christian Church, where he was a past Deacon; Past Master Mason of the Fortville F&AM Lodge No.

207; Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis; and the Family Camper and Recreational Vehicle Association. He enjoyed fishing, mechanical tinkering and going on cruises. Ron is survived by his children, Gregory Ronald Evans of Noblesville; Ginger (Cary) Miller of Greenfield; and Marissa Dawn (Brian) Hawkins of Fortville; and 6 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, MaraLee Evans on June 9, 2012. Friends may call from 4-8 pm on Friday October 26, 2018 at Seals Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fortville, where Masonic Memorial Rites will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park.
