OBITUARY Guadalupe B. Martinez November 27, 1917 – December 15, 2018 Guadalupe B. Martinez was surrounded by her loving family as she entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at her residence in Falfurrias, Texas at the age of 101. She was born on November 27, 1917 to Fabian Benavides and Antonia Ramirez Benavides in San Pedro, Texas in Zapata County. Guadalupe was dedicated homemaker, loving wife and proud mother and grandmother.

She was faithfully dedicated to the Lord and enjoyed crocheting and embroidering. Guadalupe was known to her family as Wela, Grandma and Wita and she had a hand in helping to raise many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to be in the kitchen and cook for her family.

Guadalupe was welcomed into Heaven by her parents; her husband, Genovevo Martinez, Sr.; son, Genovevo Martinez, Jr., grandson, Ramiro Perez, Jr. and all her siblings. She leaves behind to treasure her life lessons and memories her son, Jose Alberto (Adela) Martinez, Sr. of Falfurrias, Texas; four daughters, Jesusa M. (Emede) Mireles of Houston, Texas, Manuela M. Perez and Noela Martinez both of Falfurrias and Evangelina M. Grigsby of Dickson, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Ester Martinez of Premont, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. Pallbearers will be Emede Mireles, Jr., John Edward Mireles, Ramiro Perez, III, John Garza, Phillip Grigsby, Genovevo Martinez, III, John Martinez and Jose Alberto Martinez, Jr. Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias.

Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Falfurrias.
