Gwendolyn Jeanette Chelette June 30, 1944 – January 15, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Gwendolyn Jeanette Chelette, age 74 of Dry Prong, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. Her life was a blessing to so many. We are left with memories to treasure.

She will be dearly missed, but will live on in our hearts for generations. Mrs. Chelette was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, of Williana. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grand kids.

Born Friday, June 30, 1944 in Alexandria, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her parents, Ina Owens Carter and Jack Carter; brother, Shelby Carter, and sister, Linda Carter. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robert Chelette, Sr.; daughter, Carol Chelette and husband Don Sutton; sons, John David Chelette and wife Cecile, Tracy Chelette and wife Tonya, and Robert Chelette, Jr and wife Jessica; grandchildren, Amber (Steven), Kole, Gage, Quinton, Trace, Alana, and Christian; great grandchild, Shelby; brothers, Elwin Carter, Quincy Carter and wife Carol, and Dewey Carter and wife Bobbie; and several nieces and nephews, The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, atZion Hill Baptist Church in Williana, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and again on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Zion Hill Baptist Church, from 10:00 AM until time of services. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Reverends Doug James, Yancy Martin, and Chuck Evans officiating.

Interment will follow in Liberty Chapel Cemetery, in Williana, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Steven Kolkmeyer, Trace Chelette, Kole Chelette, Gage Gauthier, Shane Anderson, and James Watkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Quinton Chelette, Christian Chelette, Rodee Carter, and Cutler Maloy.
