John’s Obituary Mr. John Wade (J.W.) Nix passed peacefully from this life on Monday, February 25, 2019. Mr. J.W. was born on December 09, 1924, to the union of J.W. Nix Sr. and Lillie Mae (Parker) Nix. He honorably served his country during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific theater of operations in the U.S. Army.

After returning home, Mr. Nix enrolled in Louisiana College and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics. He taught Algebra and drivers education in the public school system, and also served his community as an electrician. Mr. Nix was known and loved by all.

He will be greatly missed. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters Linda Kendrick, and husband Charles of Lafayette Louisiana, Debby Gregory, and husband Terry of Jena Louisiana. One daughter in law, Sarah Nix, also his grandchildren John Lee, Dena Lowe, Christie Thomas, Melissa Wold, DeeDee (Nix) Head, Robin Perrin, and numerous great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife Berdina (McNeely) Nix, parents J.W. Nix Sr. and Lillie Mae (Parker) Nix, one son Robert Wade ( Buddy) Nix, and one great grandson, Tristan Wade Allen. Those honored to serve as Pallbearers are Ryan Nix, Tracy Wold, Dennis Head, Scott Thomas, Greg Allen, Josh Perrin, and Tommy Lowe. Honoraries will be Benjamin Lee, John Perrin, Jordan Perrin, Andrew Head, and Levi Perrin.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 27, 2019 at Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home of Jena Louisiana from 5:00PM until 9:00PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday February 28, 2019 in Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home from 9:00AM until 11:00AM. Services will be held in the chapel of Kinner & Stevens at 11:30AM with Rev.

Bobby McGee, and DeeDee Head officiating. Interment will follow in Jena Cemetery with full military honors under direction of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home.
