Obituary for Harold D. Guthrie Harold Dewayne Guthrie, 94, of Boynton, Oklahoma entered his eternal home on Monday, July 2, 2018. He was born June 9, 1924 east of Checotah, Oklahoma to his parents, James Luther Guthrie and Florence L. (Perry) Guthrie. He attended Lone Star and Wainwright schools.

Harold met and fell in love with Mary E. Pippin. They were married on November 6, 1947 and shared more than 69 years together. They lived and raised their family 3 miles north of Wainwright; their home of almost 70 years.

Harold and Mary also operated a dairy farm for almost 50 years. Harold was a member of the American Dairy Association and the Oklahoma Mule Skinners. He enjoyed fishing and hunting quail and deer.

Harold will be remembered as a good and kind father, grandfather (PaPa), and a mighty prayer warrior. He was always helping anyone in need. Harold was also a good witness for God and was known to quote scriptures and share his faith in God with others.

He faithfully served as a Sunday School Teacher for more than 50 years. Harold attended Wainwright Assembly of God Church for many years but most recently faithfully attended Wainwright Community Church. Harold was respected by many and was an honest Christian man who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; son, Leonard Ray; sister, Betty Jo; brothers, Reginald, James, Donald, Jack, and Bob; sisters-in-law, Wanda Guthrie and Virginia Guthrie; and brother-in-law, Jerry Flippin. Harold is survived by his son, Harold Dewayne Guthrie Jr and his friend, Donna Ramsey; daughter, Benecia Diane Guthrie and her friend, Terry Christian; grandson, Shaun Dewayne Guthrie and wife Carleen; granddaughter as seen in Harold’s eyes, Cheyanne Kirk; great-granddaughter and the joy of Harold’s life, Kynzei Kae Guthrie; all of the area; brothers, Bill Guthrie and friend Helen, Winford Guthrie and wife Connie; sisters, Eloise Flippin, Anita and husband Reasor; sister-in-law, Jan Guthrie; 2 nephews he raised, Roy Duvall and Bill Duvall. He also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, cousins, other loved ones, neighbors, and church family; a special friend, Harold Conrad, that visited often; and a family friend, Terry Kay Fields, who sat with Harold his last few months of life.

The family would like to express a heartfelt “Thank You” to Compassus Hospice for their show of concern and care for Harold. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30pm, Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Services celebrating Harold’s life will be 2PM, Friday, July 6, 2018 at Wainwright First Baptist Church with Rev.

Clarence Guthrie and Rev. Cecil Guthrie officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery with Dewayne Guthrie, Shaun Guthrie, Ronnie Dunlap, Terry Christian, Roy Duvall, Bill Duvall, J.D. Orr.
