Harold’s Obituary Harold Howell, 79, passed away in his home in Fort Morgan on January 15, 2019. Harold is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Scheneman) Howell of Fort Morgan, Colorado; two sons, Darrin Howell of Iliff, Colorado and Darrell Howell of Goodrich, Colorado; two daughters, Deborah (Husband, Joe) Holguin of Brush, Colorado and DeAnna (Husband, Steve) Elder of Hudson, Iowa; one brother, Keith Howell of Wiggins, Colorado; one sister, Marge VonLoh of Colorado Springs, Colorado; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Harold is proceeded in death by his parents, Kirk and Dorothy (Sprulin) Howell and two brothers, Larry Howell, and Danny Howell.

Harold was born October 16th, 1939 in Fort Lupton until his family moved to Wiggins in the 50s. He graduated from Wiggins High School in 1957 and joined the Navy in 1962 where he served at Chasefield Naval Airbase in Beeville, Texas until his discharge in June of 1966, then served in the Naval Reserve for two more years. Harold and Jeanne married on June 22nd, 1963 in the Wiggins Community Church.

The couple then moved to Beeville, Texas, returning to Colorado after his discharge. Harold worked on the family farm, hauled crude oil, worked as a pumper, was the manager for several center pivot companies, worked for ARIBE in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from the early 80s to 1985, where he was able to travel to Yemen, London and Germany. Later, he and son Darrell owned and operated Howell Irrigation in Greeley, Colorado.

Harold retired in 2005 when he and Jeanne moved back to Fort Morgan. Harold loved to hunt, fish, and work in his yard; but most of all, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The family will hold a private graveside service and ask extended family and friends to join them for a memorial luncheon at the Wiggins Community Church on Saturday, February 2nd, at noon.
