Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Mr. Harold Karl Metts, 77, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at Yellow Leaf Cemetery (470 Hwy. 334, Oxford, MS 38655).

Bro. Randy Bain will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Metts was born in Lafayette County, MS. He spent most of his life working at USGS and farming. He had a passion for raising horses and cattle.

He was especially proud of his registered paint horses. Mr. Metts was a member of Yellow Leaf Baptist Church and the American Paint Horse Association. Mr. Metts is survived by two sons, Brent Metts of Oxford, and Kerry (Edith) Metts of Water Valley, MS; four grandsons, Kade Metts of Oxford, Chris (Athena) Metts of Tampa Bay, FL, and Brandon (Ashley) Metts, and William Metts, both of Oxford; 5 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Freida Metts of Oxford.

Mr. Metts was preceded in death by his parents, Karl Metts and Gladys Metts. Donations and memorials in honor of Mr. Harold Metts may be made to the Yellow Leaf Cemetery Fund (221 Hwy. 334, Oxford, MS 38655).
