Harold R. Hanson, age 88, of Long Lake died on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Buffalo Hospital. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 19, at the Wayzata Free Church in Plymouth with visitation thirty minutes prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19 at Ft.

Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Harold Reuben Hanson was born September 14, 1930 in Alden to Haakon and Alma (Thompson) Hanson. He grew up in Freeborn County, attended elementary school in the District 16 rural school and graduated from Freeborn High School with the Class of 1949.

Harold served his country in the United States Army in the Korean War. On September 28, 1962, Harold was united in marriage to Delores Born at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Waseca. They made Long Lake their home and they were members of the Wayzata Free Church.

Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on automobiles, singing, walking, and his cats and dogs. He was lovingly known by his family as Harry. Harold is survived by his daughter, Marie (Dan) Hedtke of South Haven; son, Daniel Hanson of Minnetonka; grandchildren, Clint Hedtke, Lucas Hedtke, and Lily (Levi) Neuenschwander; brother-in-law, Meritt Henry; sister-in-law, Pauline Hanson; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Delores; parents, Haakon and Alma; brothers, George, Dean, Elmer and Haakon, Jr.; and sisters, Hulda Hanson, Helen Larson, Stella Sorbo, and Anna Henry. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
