He was born October 26, 1935 in New Liberty, Illinois to Will Dude and Lutie Idela Slankard Rixie. He retired as an electrical engineer for the Electric Power Operations Division of TVA.
He was a member of Temple Baptist Church, the American Legion Post 0238 and the TVARA (Nashville Section). He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his wife, Bettie McCorkle Rixie, White House, TN; daughters, Nancy (Johnny) Plush, White House, TN, Jean (Al) Huffman, Bohama, NC and Valerie (Tim) Barnes, Marietta, GA; 7 grandchildren.
