Harrell’s Obituary Harrell Wayne Blackburn, of Pauls Valley, passed away at his home with family close December 18, 2018 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years. Harrell was born July 2, 1933 in Stratford, Oklahoma to Ruby (Clour) and Tom Blackburn. He was raised in the Stratford area and attended Stratford Schools.

He furthered his education by attending college at Okmulgee Tech and later at Sul-Ross State College in Texas earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. He and Marlene Laverne Blackburn Carini were married in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on September 5, 1953 and was a member of Baptist Church. He coached and taught school in various places in Texas and Oklahoma for 18 years and retired in 1972.

He then became partner and Co-Owner of Dunlap Sporting Goods in Oklahoma City and at the age of 71 retired, again. Harrell was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Ruby Blackburn; his wife, Marlene Blackburn; two brothers, Elden Blackburn and Joe Tom Blackburn; and one sister, Cornelia Turley. His surviving family include his three children, Chuck Blackburn of Blanchard; Jackye Ward and husband, Rory, of Ada; and Joyce Tate and husband, Rick, of Pauls Valley; seven grandchildren, Nate Blackburn and wife, Elizabeth, Nick Blackburn and wife, Alicia, Ashlye Leon and husband, Tyler, Natalye Tate, Broderick Ward, Carin Blackburn and Tyler Blackburn; nine great grandchildren, Payton, Easton, Austin, Braxton, Annabelle, Charles, Graham, Thomas and Will; as well as one wonderful nephew and a host of loving nieces.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 21, 2018 at 10:00 am at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Chapel officiated by John O’Dell. We invite you to send a message of condolence to the family’s guestbook at the Guest Book link on this page. .
